If you have been looking for a place to spend a vacation with your loved ones, you might want to consider going to Cornwall. The county is a peninsula located in the southwestern part of England, which makes it abundant in sandy beaches and picturesque shorelines. Cornwalls southern area was dubbed as the Cornish Riviera, where the breathtaking harbour of Porthleven is located, along with equally impressive harbour villages such as Falmouth and Penzance. On the northern coast of the country lies lofty cliffs and some of the countrys famous surf spots.
There are a lot of things to explore in this beautiful country. Some of the popular places on the north coast are the Aqua Park Retallack Resort & Spa, the Newquay Zoo, and the Screech Owl Sanctuary. The Aqua Park boasts of a towering 15ft slide with a floating trampoline and an exciting bag blast that can throw you up the skies. This adventure is perfect for the whole family and will leave everyone exhilarated.
The Newquay Zoo is the biggest zoo in the county and has received the Cornwall Tourism Awards for two consecutive years in 2014 and 2015, as well as the Silver Award in the Wildlife and Marine Attraction of the Year awards. It has a lot of species and is the only place in Cornwall where you can see lions. Cafe Lemur can also be found inside, which serves locally sourced food in a well-chosen spot overlooking the lemur island.
The Screech Owl Sanctuary is another award-winning attraction that received the BBC UK Animal Awards back in 2003. It has one of the largest collection of owls in the west, with around 40 different species. There are also several animals that can be seen in the sanctuary such as meerkats, alpacas and pygmy goats.
Places to visit on the south coast are the South West Coast Path, Falmouth Haven, and the Philleigh Way Cookery School. The South West Coast Path is known for it 300 miles of spectacular headlands, coastal stretches and historic estuaries. The path is one of the worlds most awesome hikes based on the Great Adventures book that was published by Lonely Planet in 2012. This makes it a good place to stroll with the whole family, as it offers a variety of paths ranging from casual walks to rigorous hikes.
Falmouth Haven is the place to go if you want to marvel at the top of the line yachts. It is a leisure boating facility located in a splendid natural harbour, making it one of a kind. Their aim to provide safe and easy experience to people who are curious about the best of boating. After the days adventure, the Philleigh Way Cookery School will be a good place to eat, despite it being a cooking school. It offers private group bookings both for cooking courses and dining events. If you happen to visit Cornwall in the spring or summer, you might chance upon its regular outdoor festival night aptly called the Woodfired Sessions.
